The future of the Cattle Feeding Industry is bright, as was evident as youth from throughout Cattle Feeding Country came together in Canyon at West Texas A&M University for the 2011 TCFA Junior Fed Beef Challenge July 30.

Senior Division Overall Champion: Dana Schumacher of Gainesville

Senior Division First Runners-Up (tie): Cole Perkins of Casteel and Dax Dittrich of Schulenburg

Junior Division Overall Winner: Colton Shaw of Canyon

The TCFA Junior Fed Beef Challenge allows FFA and 4-H students to gain practical, real industry knowledge and experience in commercial cattle feeding. Students from throughout Cattle Feeding Country compete in cattle performance, written exam, record book and presentation before a panel of judges. Students compete for approximately $18,000 in scholarships, cash and prizes.
